Thyme for Gold Favorites N.4

It’s been quite awhile since my last Thyme for Gold Favorites post.  Given the current state of the world, I want to take a moment to focus on the importance of taking care of ourselves, and each other, and taking time do more of what we love.

We have an opportunity to rethink the way we live. The earth is telling us to stop, to be still and to listen. I, for one, have enjoyed hearing more birds singing outside my window, listening to church bells from the nearby churches and looking up at the night sky to find more stars.

Here is a curated collection of things that inspire me, make my day better and touch my senses.  Cook, watch, try, use, smell, listen, do, visit…let me know what inspires you 😉

During my morning meditations and stretching sessions, I’ve been listening to One River (Music for Sacred Movement) and I love track 7 – Shivaratri in particular 😉

Have been “rolling” with the help of an old friend, Lauren Roxburgh, and her body alignment techniques to help smooth and hydrate fascia and connective tissue, improve blood circulation and flexibility, flush toxins and help reduce inflammation

For all you Frenchies, tune into Stephanie Allerme‘s Mademoiselle Pierre for her Nidra Yoga class on Thursday evenings at 7:15pm via Instagram Stories

My friend Gaëlle of Subtiles.alchemies is also offering Shake + Meditation classes every morning at 9:15am

For those in the Bay Area, my favorite yoga teacher, Alyssa DeCaro, aka @bodyofsound, is offering Dynamic Flow Yoga classes online

I discovered Angela Chambers, aka @alpineangel, on Instagram via Elena Brower, one of my meditation go-to’s. Both of these women are offering meditations and acupressure tips during this valuable time of reflection

I have been cooking with On the Hummus Route – A Journey between cities, people and dreams

One of my favorite recipes at the moment – Rachel Gurjar’s Chickpea and Cauliflower Turmeric Curry

I am inspired by Agnes Denes‘ Wheatfield – Two acres of wheat planted and harvested by the artist on the Battery Park Landfill, Manhattan, Summer 1982.

“My decision to plant a wheat field in Manhattan instead of designing just another public structure grew out of the longstanding concern and need to call attention of our misplaced priorities and deteriorating human values.”      – Agnes Denes, 1982

Reading Clarissa Pinkola Esté’s Women Who Run with the Wolves – Myths and Stories of the Wild Woman Archetype

I have been listening to Max Richter’s Sleep, an 8-hour piece meant to serve as a sleep aid

“And into the forest I go, to loose my mind and find my soul.”
– John Muir
