Provisions N.1: Berkeley Farmer’s Market

PROVISIONS N.1: BERKELEY FARMER’S MARKET

Last Saturday, camera in hand, Marc and I set out to the Berkeley Farmer’s Market on Center Street.  I remember coming here last year when we stayed for 3 months.  Each Saturday, I would visit the vendors, speak with them, sample their delicious products and very often, fill my basket with a variety of treats.   This week, the purple radishes were taken to Lake Tahoe and added to a salad, the yellow chard was brought to Yosemite where I made a chard and mushroom sautée which I cooked in a cast iron pan on the bbq and the peppers were roasted and added on top of my homemade hummus.
